about

Parnassus was a Wiccan vocal ensemble from Vancouver, BC who joined forces to create contemporary Pagan vocal music at a time when most Pagan music was Celtic-folk. Their debut album First Degree (2003) was a commercial and critical success, and they were a household name in Pagan music and a regular fixture at .BC choral festivals After some line-up changes they reformed as Chalice and Blade, and released a second album Wild Hunt (2006) which was also successful. In 2012, Chalice & Blade’s best known song, I Hear You Calling, was used in the NBC show Being Human. A video produced for the song has garnered over 650,000 views. When their coven disbanded, band leader Mo Jo, who is perhaps better known as the host of the Wigglian Way podcast, and vocalist Wendy Avis tried to make a go of it as a duo. They appeared at the Sun Wheel Pagan Music Festival in 2013. Mo Jo is now studying contemporary Pagan shamanism.
